Frequently Asked Questions:

Is life coaching an alternative to therapy? How is it different?

Q:

This distinction is important! Life coaching is NOT a replacement for therapy. In my opinion, it is a compliment. Therapy can be essential for processing emotions and identifying potential conditions that require clinical intervention. Therapy is largely focused on past experiences and patterns, which can help us understand why we feel or behave the way we do. Life coaching is forward-focused work that can help identify true desires for the future and design a plan for how to get there. I am not a licensed mental health professional (yet!), but I will begin seeing therapy clients in Fall 2026 as a Master of Social Work intern, so we can work together with therapy or coaching!

A:

Do you take insurance?

Q:

Unfortunately, life coaching is not currently covered by insurance, and I cannot accept insurance as a therapy intern. But I am open to discussing flexibility in session rates to meet capacity and need. Please reach out about a sliding scale if finances feel like a barrier to support.

A:

Do you meet with clients in-person or virtually?

Q:

Both! We can meet via Zoom or you can come meet me in person at HealTree (1632 Savannah Rd. Lewes, DE), which is a holistic mental health practice. The space is perfectly curated for healing and I'm grateful to be able to invite you to join me there.
